Plans by Denbighshire County Council to introduce electric charging points in a new car park in Rhyl have been welcomed by Glenn Swingler Plaid Cymru's Parlimentary Candidate in the Vale of Clwyd.

Cllr. Swingler, Councillor for Upper Denbigh and Henllan, said: "Plaid Cymru called for the County Council to increase the number of electric vehicle charging points throughout the Council in July 2018. In February this year the Council announced plans to enhance the number of charging points but limited their use to the Council fleet of vehicles, and Plaid Cymru called for a roll out for public use. So, we welcome the fact that the Council are taking our concerns on board and are also taking steps to honour the Council's recent Climate Emergency declaration, which was co-sponsored by Plaid Cymru.

"I sincerely hope that the introduction of electric charging points in Rhyl is a first step, and that we'll see more introduced in other parts of the County - Prestatyn, Rhuddlan, Denbigh, and other communities would welcome such a development and ensure that each part of the County plays their part in the fight against climate change."
